Dear candidates,
Hasan Kalyoncu University Department of Architecture started its academic life in 2010. He has been continuing his postgraduate education with the Master’s program since the 2014-2015 academic year and the PhD program since 2018. Our department is located within the Faculty of Fine Arts and Architecture. In the faculty building, there are Architecture Project-Design Studios, Basic Design Studio, CAD (Computer Aided Design) and Material-Product laboratory. It is possible to access current publications in the field of Architecture-Design and Art in the university library. In addition, current international professional publications can be accessed from many subscribed databases.
Hasan Kalyoncu University, Department of Architecture accepts students with the numerical (SAY) score type of the central placement exam. It has a quota of 30 students: 15 students with full scholarship, 10 students with half scholarship and 5 students with a fee. Our students also have the opportunity to benefit from student success scholarships throughout their education period. Our students, who complete the Department of Architecture with the first degree, are encouraged to specialize in their fields by continuing their Thesis and/or Non-Thesis graduate education with a full scholarship.
HKU Department of Architecture offers its students the opportunity to continue part of their education abroad with the Erasmus student exchange program. Successful students of our department, provided that they meet the conditions within the scope of the relevant Regulation; It has the opportunity to graduate with a double diploma by majoring in Interior Architecture and Environmental Design and Civil Engineering departments. The curriculum of the Department of Architecture consists of courses under five main groups: Design, Architecture-Art History, Conservation and Restoration, Building – Material Information and Information Technologies. Project-oriented studio studies are an indispensable part of education.
Course groups are supported with technical elective courses starting from the 3rd grade, with the aim of helping students specialize in their special interests. In this way, the theoretical and technical infrastructure for students’ possible postgraduate education is created. Students who successfully complete the four-year education process are entitled to receive a bachelor’s degree in Architecture. Graduates can work as designers, practitioners and controllers in the building and building production, construction sites, building materials, furniture design and production sectors, as architect-experts in public institutions, as researchers-academics in relevant departments of universities, or as freelance architects in their own offices.
